Real movie start times at theatres

I go to the movie theatres at least once per week! There's been a great deal of buzz in regards to Connecticut Senator Martin Looney's proposed bill which would require movie theaters to post "movie advertisement or listing include, and separately list, the scheduled start time for (1) the movie trailers and advertisements that precede the advertised or listed movie, and (2) the advertised or listed movie."

I know my wife would love this, but I have mixed feelings about it! A part of me likes seeing trailers for upcoming films. Waiting 25-35 minutes for a film to start can be tedious for some, I can see that. It would be great if the studios could come up with clever video clips or something to keep the audience excited before the main feature begins. I do remember Pixar used to have an animated short before the feature. Perhaps there could be some movie shorts before the film!

Another part of this debate is what if for some reason the movie theatre completely skip over the ads & previews!? This has happened at least three time at the theatre inside the Aviation Mall in Queensbury! Granted nine times out of ten this doesn't happen, but if you go see a classic film (or a Fathom event), there are NO previews!

The idea is this may help struggling theatres survive! It may!? There are a lot of things that would help improve the movie going experience! Enforce no talking or cell phone policies! ALL theatres have at least one or two smaller, more independent films perhaps? I digress!  If you want to read the article, click here!
